Mesa Verde Country® has been a shopping/trading center for more than 1,000 years. Galleries, trading posts and traditional retail businesses provide collectors and browsers the opportunity to discover a wide array of quality, unique merchandise.
- Trading posts Arts and crafts include Hopi Kachinas, Navajo and Apache baskets, pottery from the New Mexico Pueblos, Navajo rugs and southwestern jewelry. Several trading posts have been owned by the same family for generations, gaining a reputation for honesty, fairness, and detailed knowledge of the items they sell.
- Galleries Many galleries carry the work of some of the most famous artists in the southwest. Original paintings, limited-edition prints, sculptures, ceramics, weavings, and jewelry are all on display. Mesa Verde Country® is home to two pottery factories where Native American artists design, carve, and paint intricate pieces of pottery. Galleries in Cortez and Mancos feature the work of artists who find inspiration in Mesa Verde Country's® awe inspiring surroundings.
