Visitor Services at Mesa Verde National Park |
Mesa Verde National Park is open 365 days a year. Camping, lodging, and gasoline are available from spring to fall, but not during the winter months.
Morefield Campground is located in the park, five miles from the park entrance. The Campground is open from April to October, and has over 500 campsites, including a limited number of RV sites. Far View Visitor Center is located fifteen miles inside the park. Here you should purchase your tickets for visiting the archaeological sites. At the same area are located Far View Lodge, where lodging and meals are available, and Far View Terrace offering cafeteria-style meals, an ice cream parlor, and a gift shop and gallery. Bus tours (full and half-day) may be purchased at the Lodge. From Far View Visitor Center, travelers may continue on six miles to Chapin Mesa, or turn off for the twelve mile drive to Wetherill Mesa. Meals are available at Spruce Tree Terrace year round. There are full services available outside the entrance to the park in the towns of Cortez, Dolores, Mancos and Towaoc. |
