Inspiration For A
New Generation

Mesa Verde Country has been an art center for over 1,000 years. Several galleries carry the work of some of the most famous artists in the Southwest. Original paintings, limited edition prints, sculptures, ceramics, weavings, and jewelry are all on display. Galleries, trading posts and other businesses throughout the area provide collectors and browsers the opportunity to discover a wide array of quality merchandise. Several of the trading posts in Mesa Verde Country have been owned by the same family for generations, gaining a reputation for honesty, fairness, and detailed knowledge of the items they sell. Area trading posts carry a variety of arts and crafts from across the Southwest, including Hopi Kachinas, Navajo and Apache baskets, pottery from the New Mexico pueblos, renowned Navajo rugs and exquisite Southwestern jewelry. Mesa Verde Country is home to a pottery factory where Native American artists design, carve, and paint intricate pieces of pottery. Salespeople are happy to educate and inform the first-time buyer or supplement the knowledge of a collector.
